Removed all coins that have been delisted. Removed several coins that have very small exchange volume.
Slimcoin Uses Proof-of-Burn
Slimcoin is the newest coin on the list. It uses proof-of-burn that allows any computer to have equal chance of block.
New Universal Dollar Added
New Universal Dollar has been added to list. It features Bcrypt as the algorithm which I think is a first for an AltCoin.
Updated Exchange Qualifications
I have changed the exchange qualifier a few times over the last few months. The current version still leaves stagnant coins on the list for far too long. I am making it so that a coin must be on an exchange within 30 days. It is easy to get on the minor exchanges and if a coin cannot manage that, it is already dead. In addition to that, a coin must still be add to a major exchange within 60 days.
These rule changes will immediately affect several coins. Additionally, I need to go back and check all coins because some may have been de-listed from exchanges.
VirtualCoin Pulled
VirtualCoin was removed on 2014/07/01 because it is older than 60 days and has not been able to get on any exchange.
Siamese Coin
Siamese Coin is a new X11 algorithm coin that is PoW/PoS. The PoW lasts only 200 days.
YACoin Is Back and Moneta Verde Joins
YACoin comes back from the Eliminated Coins because changes on difficulty make the GPU miner less effective.
Moneta Verde is the newest CryptoNote coin to come on list. It is different because as the difficulty increases, the reward decreases. It also offers merged mining with other CryptoNight algorithm coins.
X11 Algorithm GPU Advantage Recalculated
I have been aware of patched X11 GPU miners and decided to revisit the X11 algorithm calculations. The patched miner provided noticeable gains. However, since PHM has stopped sph-sgminer development, the folks over at NiceHash.com sponsored development of something that suites their needs. Their sgminer v5 makes huge improvements on X11 (probably others).
NEW GPU Advantage Calcs
AMD FX-8320 using Elmad’s CPU-Miner v(1.3) = 458kh/s
R9 280x (average from here) = 4.2mh/s
Advantage = 9.2
